Who we are
Hi! We're Lara and Mel, and Breakwater BN3 is our family business.
We both love spending as much time on and in the water as possible. Between us, we like to do it all: kitesurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, wakeboarding or simply jumping through the waves with our kids.
Like many of our beach friends, we were frustrated at the high cost of changing robes available. So, in 2021 we decided to take on the challenge of setting up our own business with a brand that complimented our lifestyle. Our mission was to create a more affordable changing robe that didn’t compromise on quality or look.
The Breakwater comes in one colour and limited sizes to help us keep costs down. The stylish navy peony outer shell is water- and windproof, while the super warm inner Sherpa fleece comes in grey. The sizes are medium or large with dimensions listed below, but don’t forget they’re designed to provide room to change. Each purchase also comes with a complimentary drawstring carry bag, as one of the simple additions we felt provided the added value we wanted to bring to the market.
Having tested out the Breakwater during the cold winter months and summer evenings on the south coast of England, we now have a design that is smart, practical and affordable.
Wear it how you like – it's great for the beach, camping, watching sporting events or simply walking your dog in the rain!

Bobble Hat
Our bobble hats are £20 each and can be purchased by emailing team@breakwaterBN3.co.uk or by using the contact form at the bottom of this page. We will then send you a payment link.
We source the hats from a local company in Sussex who do the embroidery. They have a thick fleece lined thermal band on the inside, built to keep you warm and
toasty all year round!

FREE drawstring bag
Made with the same material as the outer shell fabric, these custom made drawstring bags are great for transporting or storing your robe.
The Breakwater has been designed to be less bulky to wear and carry.
Waterproof and windproof
The specially treated outer shell is built to protect you from the elements - keeping you warm and dry!
Long sleeves as standard
This is a premium product, so the Breakwater robe comes with long arms as standard.
Furthermore, the adjustable cuffs allow you to adapt the fit to your needs.
Sherpa fleece and hanging loop
The super soft sherpa fleece lining keeps you feeling toasty when changing outdoors.
It also dries quickly when hung, so we've included a hanging loop designed to hold the full weight of the jacket.
Simple fastening
Perfect for those who want to throw on this robe and warm up quickly. If your hands are cold there is no need to fumble with a zip, just seal yourself in with the hook and loop fasteners.
Chunky two way zip
Our heavy duty two way zip allows for maximum mobility and can be operated from both the inside and outside for added comfort when changing. We've even added a grab tag!
4 pockets
The Breakwater comes with two large external fleece-lined pockets to keep your hands warm. Featuring chunky zips they're also great for storing clothes.
Plus inside two deep pockets provide space for valuables, including a large phone, or clothes if you don't want to pull out your undies in public.
We've even included an earphone hole to thread through and protect the wires.
Emergency contact tag
We all know watersports can be hazardous, so we wanted to ensure each jacket has a place to write an emergency contact number should you ever be in a crisis or separated from your belongings.
PLEASE NOTE the Breakwater robe is not designed to wear on or in the water, as this would pose a serious drowning risk if used in this way.
